When we are too attached to the things of the earth, we are not free to soar with the angels.  In virtually every spiritual philosophy, attachment is synonymouse with suffering.  When we are attached to something or someone, we inevitably experience pain because sooner or later, we are going to have to relinquish all of our earthly possessions.  They were only been loan to us anyway.

People leave us, either through death or moving on.  Material acquisitions wear out or our lost, stolen, destroyed, or left behind when we pass on.  As long as we cling to relationships and things, we risk being imprisoned by either deception or apprehension.  We either believe mistakenly that they are ours forever, or we live in the shadow of the fear that we will lose them.  The opposit of attachment then is not only detachment but freedom. When we can appreciate the gifts that have been loaned to us on earth and also let go of them when their time is up, when we experience the freedom of spirit that enables us to recognize and receive the next gift that is in store for us.  For when something is removed from our lives, it is only to make room for something better to replace it.

Is there no such thing as friendship among fans and idols?

I received this from yahoogroups…

I saw Carrie on her episode of Inside the Moment on CMT back on Friday and there was one section of the episode that really made me feel a little edgy on how Carrie feels about her status as a country music star.

She said that making friends was nearly impossible because everyone knows her as a celebrity. She said she wouldnt be able to make any friends out of anyone but her co-workers because, when it comes to people outside the music business, she doesnt think she would be able to trust anyone because they would probably just boast that they know “The Carrie Underwood” and not be any kind of a friend at all, they would just be another fan wanting Carrie’s attention.

I was sort of curious what everyones opinion about this matter is. It just got to me how this star still can’t have her dreams perfected because she can’t be a normal person in the crowd anymore. So what does everyone think about this little issue?

And it made me pause for a while.. thinking… will it also happen to Pooh bear’s friend?  No matter how sincere you are in making friends with them… friendship would still something be….. <blank>

I’d rather wait for the best time.. when she’s no longer popular… and life would simply go back to the ordinary… rather than being tagged as someone who would just be another fan wanting Winwin’s attention…

For the meantime, I will be contented standing as your SILENT FRIEND…

Whatta Gift!

A Special Bday Gift….

A month before, I was thinking of how that December 17 would be a lot more different from the usual celebration of my birthdays… I never thought that God would give me something like this.. on the 27th..

December 17… I wasn’t expecting any gift from friends and families… Not that they don’t like to… but it was my personal request.. a consequence of campaigning for NENE Tamayo of Pinoy Big Brother. I told them.. I won’t accept gifts… instead of buying me one, buy votecards or buy text cards to vote for NENE.. and anybody I assume, did that… I haven’t received any gifts nga eh… hahaha aside from my brother and my mom..

It was Saturday, the scheduled Eyeball Party of Nenergizers in Fazoli’s Libis.  I came to meet Nenergizers.  I am bringing with me some little hope that somehow Nene would drop by… but she was in Romblon at that time.. The presence of Maltesers, cda, el_pinoy and schizofreeky really made my day.  The laughters and the chikahan of almost the summary of the NENE Thread is really great….

I know that even after that.. we would remain friends by heart…

I didn’t stop.. I went to ABS-CBN in front of the PBB House..

December 18, the Christmas Party of PBB.. I was there… 8pm I think.. ABS-CBN advertised that it’s gonna be live.. so I thought… I should come to give my Poohbear to Kumander Nene.. Anybody knows how I really loved Pooh… Pooh is just one of my greatest possessions..

At first, I was with Schizofreeky and Blizzardskii (my co-forumers in PBB) but they went home early and I stayed alone… alone talaga… I am hopeful that I can give it personally to Nene.. and it happened… I txted her thru K-Txt and write a personal note on the card at the back of Poohbear… I just don’t know how my Pooh would get to her… So I inserted a note stating…

“My Best Friend, Sheggz, instructed me that if I ever I get into Kumander Nene.. I would salute you…”  and I wrote my mobile no. there…

2am of December 19, I was able to get in… (in the PBB Haws)… thanks to one of the PBB Staff who thought of a strategy.. I’ll be playing Efren’s (PBB Staff) wife.  I walked inside and saw the stunning Kumander talking to Big Brother??? I saw Nene.. and all i can say is “Oh my God.. Oh my God!!! Oh my God.. there she is…”  We had a picture and handed me an autograph…  It’s a very overwhelming moment tlaga..

She’s really nice.. very kind.. very approachable… I know that she’ll keep Poohbear.. “Winwin”, as she named it… Basta… I know she appreciate it very much.. Thanks a lot!

To Ms. Nene Tamayo.. thanks for the wonderful experience..  You really made my birthday extra special… and to the PBB Staff… thanks!

SAVE ME A DREAM

I’ve been constantly asking signs whether or not to fulfill the dream I’ve long wanted to pursue.. Going back to school and study Music.. (Composition/Songwriting) or take Piano lessons in Ryan Cayabyab Music Studio.

Here are the signs:

1.   Saan Darating ang Umaga is one of my favorite OPM Classics. I was only elementary / highschool when I heard that song. I admire the man who wrote that song…

2.   If I could see Raymond Lauchengco (my ultimate crush ever) again and would produce an album again…

3.   If God would help me see a person who could bring me back my enthusiasm to dream…

I never had the chance to complete American Idol shows before.. but when I saw Carrie Underwood, I found myself hooked to it..

If Carrie Underwood will win against Bo Bice (the Darkhorse of AI)… at that time there are still 6 remaining contestants vying for the title… I will definitely go for it..

4.   I got employed in Makati… where I was informed that Ryan Cayabyab’s Music Studio is just few steps away from our office… I laughed… I’ve been searching for that studio eversince….

5.   I watched Constantine Maroulis in Greenbelt and I saw Jay Durias.. playing very well on stage as the keyboardist.. and at that point I wanted to be like him…

6.  Then came Big Brother… my early favorite talaga is Nene… I asked again… if she’ll win over Franzen.. At that time it was very impossible because Franzen is the most popular among the housemates, and Nene being the underdog.. I’ll go for it

7.   The final sign… I got to hear Saan Darating ang Umaga in Raymond Lauchengco’s new released album… at the time when Nene of Big Brother won and Carrie Underwood already produced two albums under her name after winning American Idol..

8.   And when I finally had the chance to get an autograph of Raymond Lauchengco, he said to me upfront … “Sheggz, Save Me a Dream…” He even wrote that to the poster given to me….Save me a Dream is the carrier single of his newest album..

2005 may have brought me the deepest pains… but I’m definite that 2006 is the year of fulfilling dreams…Save me that dream…

THE END OF BEING A FAN…?

I said to myself… after having my CD signed by Raymond Lauchengco in Landmark… I should quit being a fanatic of anybody. That was the very very last..

But when the PBB last eviction and PBB Big Night came, I felt I need to do something for NENE Tamayo.. my Ultimate bet in Pinoy Big Brother.. . Luckily, I was given the chance to meet other NENERgizer fans in the PBB Forum under NENE Thread who share the same enthusiasm as I have. Wanting Nene to win the race…

I observe myself..…

Supporting NENE Tamayo is far more different from the way I have ran after Sharon Cuneta, Agot Isidro, Carrie Underwood, Jaya Ramsey, Raymond Lauchengco, Jamie Rivera…

Running after them just to have their autographs or catch a picture of them…

This time, I joined the NENERgizer to help NENE in our own little way to campaign, vote and pray. A very organized group… though we don’t know each other… cause we are just virtual friends on the net but I know their sincerity to really put NENE on top is really there… the same feeling that I have… A quest to vote for the best among the housemates..

This time, the call of being fanatic is a fight to put a good example of a modern Filipina as the first Pinoy Big Brother winner.. and glad we never failed.

When my granny told me.. “Tigilan mo na yan… wala namang magagawa sa yo ang NENE na yan.. “

I said to myself secretly, I don’t need anything in return…. I know for myself that it was my good deed.. as “Kapitbahay ni Kuya”

I should never quit… I would remain a Kawal ni Kumander NENE…

Why vote for NENE Tamayo..

In almost several months of watching PBB, I see NENE as somebody who exemplifies a very astounding personality. And I’m very happy and proud that such kind of attitude belongs to a FILIPINA…

Everywhere she goes, I know she can handle herself very very well.  And she will definitely do it perfectly. 

If she is not destined to be PBB’s Grand Winner, Filipinos will truly be proud and will never be tired of supporting and admiring a superb Filipina like her.

I hope PBB will not just look after superficial beauty but more on the extreme and awesome personality, strength, all-around talent and valor uniquely PINOY.

A very independent-minded person, who could do well alone or in group. A born-leader and has a command of authority. Her being strategic shows in a lot of ways.. She knows that this is a game, that she should vote off those she thinks are “threats” to her. She does not quickly judge other person nor backfight with them because she knows it’s just a waste of time and energy. She comforts her housemates when they are being summoned and she brings faith and courage to those who seem afraid and hopeless. A very diligent person who always wants to finish the task as ordered and will do it perfectly. A person who accepts whatever achievements she has, be it not on top. She has her own thinking not easily brainwashed by others… very firm in making decisions…

Very brave.. Very Filipina…

Hoping more and more Filipinos would be like you NENE….

More and more Filipinas would be very proud of having NENE seen here and abroad..

More and more would be rejoicing having NENE around…

“I am always a fan…”

Yeah.. I am… back to my early years pa.  It started out with Raymond Lauchengco - Jamie Rivera - Sharon Cuneta - Agot Isidro and now Carrie Underwood…

But when American Idol Season 4 came… can get my eyes off Constantine Maroulis… He’s a great-looker indeed (than Bo Bice.. ) Constantine is a man.. oozing with sex appeal.. haha!

When I heard the news that Constantine will be coming over to the Philippines.. oh my God.. Oh my God!!!! Finally I will get a glimpse of my newest crush..

November 17, 2005 at Greenbelt 3 Park.. I stood up for almost 4 long hours just to be there on his first live concert here.. But he’s worth waiting for… His repertoire includes his AI picks.. His killer looks matched with his killer smile.. so gorgeous… melting my heart away..

I’m falling… haaaayyyyyyy…  the show was really good.. i enjoyed watching a rocker this time.. his voice is really powerful.. trembling..

I like his rendition of “Every Little he does is Magic” and “I Can’t Make you Love Me..” .. very handsome.. very Constantine..

I got a copy of Killer Queen where he has his Bohemian Rhapsody.. Some has their own “Pray for the Soul of Betty…” album already…

Borrowed Groom…

2005 is a year of mending deepest cuts… getting over with my biggest pains lately… Saving someone I thought would always be mine… … Waiting for someone who will never come back.. never ever come back …

It was the only time I saw myself crying a lot…

It’s as if a larger part of who I am right now was stolen.. and taken away from me.. Thanks to Rascal Flatts’ Bless The Broken Road…  It’s lyrics made me breathe well… “I think about the years I spent just passing through

Life’s just sneaking up on you…

Early this morning.. I walked hurriedly just to get on with the first bus I saw…I insisted to get in.. didn’t care if I’ll be in SO mode… not bad at all… cause I heard them played my favorite “Ironic” song of Alanis Morissette.. It really made my day so light… Can’t help but hum the lyrics of it… as if I was the first one who owns that song.. and agree on what the song implies.. …. That life at times is becoming too ironic… Well life has a funny way of sneaking up on you

Changing Logos

Hoping to see you guys.. serving God.. though logos will definitely change…

For my brothers and sisters in Singles for Christ, this day was really remarkable. We were gathered in the church to celebrate the wedding of two special friends…Bro. Joey (known as Taqueo) and Sis. Ambel.

Everytime I attend a wedding of co-SFC married to another co-SFC, I can’t help but be thankful to God for bringing them together…

Me, too.. if given the chance to get married.. I would definitely ask God to bless me with a good Brother in SFC… I really love to continue my service with Him…

Going back to the wedding, familiar faces were there.. Singles from Amadeo, Tagaytay, Silang, Indang, Trece…and everybody seemed to be very excited… Is this a praisefest?

I loved the reception… instead of flowers.. the venue was filled with light-green and white balloons… you will know that the wedding details has been prepared carefully.. and you will feel how their love filled the air..

I will surely miss Taqueo.. He has always been one of my shoulders and inspirations in serving Christ through the Singles for Christ. And I’m hoping that they will continue to serve SFC though I will no longer call them Bro and Sis.. but Tito and Tita..

I’m looking forward to see a more energetic and more dynamic CFC people, dancing, singing, serving, preaching… the Taqueo  way…

Red Crab Bonding

One rainy evening of October 28 at Red Crab..

I joined Rovs and Apple in a date… that was their anniversary date, I think.  We we’re looking for a best place to eat… somewhere that would really satisfy our hunger… Then we saw The Seafood Club bt The ReD Crab at Glorietta..  We all agreed to try a sumptuous buffet…

At first, Apple and I were so eager to take pictures.. Rovs was not. 
He got angry… Jologs daw kami.. always taking pictures anywhere we go… Pero look… he had all the wackiest pictures here.. Hahahaha… ayaw pa nya yan ha.. eh ano pa kung nasa mood siya mgpapicture..

Bonding moment.. trick or treat!  I loved the marshmallow dipped in chocolate.. Migraine!!!

Another GK experience..

SFC Amadeo and Tagaytay were in Gawad Kalinga (GK) site in Aguado, Trece Martirez, Cavite last Sunday.  We were welcomed by so many children.. one of them is Patrick.. A very personable kid!  Guapo!

Soon i’ll be posting our pic together.. We played with them… hagaran-suguran and the jumping rope… i’m getting old na talaga.. couldn’t catch my breath in just a few jumps…

A nice feeling to help other people.. everytime i feel so empty.. depressed… i alway think of going back to SFC and serve … especially GK.. it made me realized that I am really blessed with so much!

i may not have all the riches in the world..
but i am blessed to have granted with the gift of wisdom to know when do i need to share… when do i need to serve.. even if several times.. i’m astray…

I am reminded of tasks and obligations over and beyond the usual.
